Despite the recent lowering of the UK terrorism alert level from Severe to Substantial, it is worth taking a look at the current UK Civil Emergencies National Risk Register http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/sites/default/files/resources/nationalriskregister-2010.pdf , in which attacks on crowded places and attacks on transport remain high likelihood events.
