As more and more consumers become aware of the dangers from email “phishing” scams, the criminal gangs behind this worldwide fraud are redoubling their efforts to lure us into revealing our online banking secrets. And it is no longer necessary to enter confidential log-on details in order to fall victim. On 8th May the Australian Bankers Association issued a warning to consumers that a simple click on the embedded link in the hoax emails out of curiosity may be enough to download onto your computer malicious software which can log your keystrokes.This has particular implications for information security corporate networks which allow employees to undertake routine personal email transactions, such as online banking, using workstations or laptops.
