David Cresswell Wins 2007 Imbert Prize

The ARC Training International Academy for Security Management is proud to announce that MD David Cresswell has won the 2007 Imbert Prize for best security-related academic essay, for his work on terrorism risk analysis.

Named after Lord Peter Imbert, former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, the award is designed to develop ideas for the advancement of risk and security management in the UK. It seeks to advance security and security professionals with particular emphasis on the development of an academic base for the profession. It brings together “words, knowledge, experience and service.”

Under the “Selected Academic Dissertation” award scheme, Cranfield, Leicester, Loughborough and Portsmouth Universities are invited to submit on behalf of one of their students a dissertation, which must be relevant to consultancy in security. Lord Imbert reads all submissions personally and was delighted with the high standard of the 2007 finalists.

In March of this year David was appointed as an external marker on the Leicester University MSc in Security and Risk Management programme. He intends to invest the £1,000 prize money into PhD studies.
