Long Distance Learning – Mahbubul Alam Choudhury

At the recent ASIS UK Certification Presentation Dinner, guest of honour Bruce George MP congratulated CPP certificants and called on other security professionals to embrace qualifications, accredited training and education in order to further enhance the professional image of security management.

Five thousand miles away in Bangladesh, the security managers of leading national and multinational companies have been doing just that. Having organised two weeks of university accredited security management training with ARC in 2006, the Bangladesh security manager network is preparing for a further four weeks of study with ARC this year.

One such manager is former Army Major Mahbubul Alam Choudhury, Deputy General Manager of GrameemPhone, Bangladesh’s biggest telecommunications operator with over 10 million subscribers. Having completed the first of six modules towards the ARC Training/Middlesex University MSc Work Based Learning (Corporate Security Management), Mahbubul is busy preparing for modules 2 and 3 this year, which will be delivered through ARC open training courses. Thereafter, Mahbubul will be transferred to Middlesex University as a distance learning student to complete his MSc. Not content with academic excellence, Mahbubul is also busy preparing for his CPP!
