Naming and Shaming Data Losers

The US Transportation Security Administration is one of the latest organisations to be posted on the “name and shame” data privacy watchdog site http://attrition.org/dataloss/.

Two laptops were allegedly stolen from a TSA contractor. The hard drives contained unencrypted personal information about commercial drivers who transport hazardous materials across the US. Full story at:

Attrition.org makes uncomfortable reading for some companies, but there is no doubt that such sites will increasing be used by potential stakeholders to make investment and consumer decisions.
